#askpixelandink: Brand your business in 3 steps

One of the questions people have asked us is how do you start branding your business? The steps are simple, but they need to be done well.

Step 1: Find your customer and potential clients

You need to understand who you are selling to, as that will dictate your look. Understand age, gender, social status,…

Step 2: Name your business or product

If your customers are looking for a personal feel you can use your name as John Lewis did, or you can be more descriptive in a style of ‘GoCompare’.

Step 3: Design

Be consistent and coherent. If your customer is youth, you need to look like they expect. But don’t have a handwritten logo and then use a font like Times new roman, because you will be visually contradicting yourself. You need to be logical.
