The brand responsibility

This weekend I did my grocery shopping at Tesco. I was heartbroken when just for 4 peaches, 4 flat peaches and 5 apricots I got this amount of packaging. I was quite horrified that for such a small amount of food I had so much plastic. This made me think about the responsibility that businesses, no matter if it’s a small business or a big corporation, to impact positively on the planet and society.

I contacted them to make them aware. Unfortunately, their answer was a copy and paste from PR book. They justify this amount of plastic to protect the food and fight against food waste. I don’t know enough about environmental policies and solutions to find the answer to this problem. I felt like I try to solve one problem by creating a new one.

I think if there is a will there is a way. Maybe instead of plastic, we could use degradable paper to protect the food?

I’d love to hear opinions!
